European Commission recognising the innovative actions of NGOs the EU Health Award

The European Commission has launched the 2021 European Union (EU) Health Award on the following two topics:

Cancer prevention: rewarding the initiatives of cities, NGOs (or other civil society organizations), and educational institutions seeking to promote communication and health literacy on cancer prevention among children and young people (from 6 to 24 years old).

Mental health: rewarding community-based initiatives alleviating the mental health impact of COVID-19.

Categories

2021 EU Health Award – Cancer Prevention: The objectives of this Award are to recognize innovative actions by cities, NGOs or other civil society organizations, and schools and other learning facilities that contribute to promote and improve cancer prevention through strengthening communication, including health literacy. The 2021 EU Health Award will recognize and reward initiatives that contributed to the promotion of healthy and active lifestyles for children and young people (from 6 to 24 years old).

2021 EU Health Award – Mental Health: The European Commission invites NGOs, local authorities (or organizations affiliated with these), and other not-for-profit organizations based in the European Union to enter their community-based initiatives that help alleviate the mental health impact of COVID-19 for the 2021 EU Health Award, providing details about these initiatives and their tangible results.
