The Aspektus Group, the Alternative Communities Association is has announced a support program under the European Union Citizens, Equal Opportunities, Rights and Values (CERV-2024-CITIZENS-VALUES) program entitled ” Acting on the ground ” for civil society organizations operating in the counties of Northern Hungary, the Northern Great Plain, the Southern Great Plain and the Southern Transdanubia region.
Objective
- The overall objective of the Aspektus+ Local Action Grant is to support rural (outside the capital) NGOs in Hungary in becoming more independent, stable and active actors of democracy. The grant is intended for existing NGOs that want to move forward in their development and reach the next level of their operations. Primarily, those organizations that respond to local community problems they have identified and are open to participating in capacity building activities to maximize the impact of the grant can apply successfully.
Funding Information
- The total funding available for the application is EUR 720,000.
- The grant is a flat-rate amount, and each winning application automatically receives a grant of EUR 30,000.
- The winning applicants will receive a grant of EUR 6,000 in the first year, EUR 9,000 in the second year, and EUR 15,000 in the third year.
Eligible Activities
- The application primarily supports the following activities:
- community events
- trainings, workshops, conferences and other learning activities
- research, surveys, and their publication
- communication and awareness-raising campaigns
- community participation processes and programs
- advocacy, representation of interests
- contact and networking activities
- community processes, community building, community organization
Eligibility Criteria
- Those civil organizations (foundations registered with the court – except for public foundations and party foundations and associations – except for parties, trade unions and mutual insurance associations) whose representatives (employees, members, volunteers, etc.) do not engage in party political activities (the organization does not nominate candidates in elections, and its leaders do not run for office in any other capacity) may submit a support application.
- Organizations registered and operating in one of the counties of Northern Hungary, Northern Great Plain, Southern Great Plain and Southern Transdanubia, which are independent of the state or local government institutional system and have experience in dealing with the problem they have undertaken, can apply for the program.
- An organization can only submit one application.
- Parties, party-affiliated organizations, chambers, public bodies, employer and employee interest organizations, insurance associations, non-profit business organizations, cooperatives, informal groups, minority self-governments, and churches are not eligible to apply.
