Deadline: 13-Feb-2026
The Ausgrid Grants for Good program which aims to support community-based projects and organisations within their network area.
There is a significant opportunity available through Community groups, not-for-profits, schools and other local initiatives can apply for funding to help create meaningful impact in areas of sustainability, community support and local engagement.
For example, the program offers two streams of grant funding: one stream focuses on electrification projects (supporting the shift from gas to electric solutions) with funding up to around $15,000, and the other stream supports grassroots community causes with funding up to about $5,000. Previous recipients include local schools upgrading facilities, environmental conservation groups purchasing electric equipment, sports clubs enhancing inclusion and community organisations improving services.
Applications to the program open around late October each year, and organisations interested should prepare ahead by defining a clear project, understanding the fund categories and ensuring they meet the geographic network eligibility. While demand has been very high, being aligned with the program’s objectives—positive community impact, sustainability, local benefit—and demonstrating how the funding will deliver tangible outcomes can improve chances.
This grant opportunity represents a practical route for organisations doing community-focused work in the regions served by Ausgrid to receive financial support and accelerate their initiatives. With careful planning, awareness of deadlines and an impact-oriented proposal, groups can leverage this program to advance their operations, expand reach and enhance local outcomes.
