Deadline: 31-Dec-2025
The City of Oshawa has announced the Oshawa Community Grants Program, offering a total of $300,000 to support local initiatives that enhance arts, culture, heritage, environmental projects, and community development.
Funding is distributed across four categories to ensure a wide range of activities can benefit from the program.
The Arts, Culture, Heritage and Environmental – Events stream, with $100,000 available, supports the development and delivery of events, festivals, celebrations, and gatherings in Oshawa. Meanwhile, $50,000 is allocated to Arts, Culture, Heritage and Environmental – Development to support one-off projects, initiatives, and special activities within these sectors. Strong Inclusive Communities also receives $100,000 to back initiatives that meet the needs of diverse local populations. Finally, $50,000 is dedicated to Fundraising and Oshawa Significant Events, providing in-kind support for key fundraising activities and city-wide events.
Organizations can apply in more than one category if their project aligns with multiple streams. The review committee will evaluate applications and determine the most appropriate category for funding, though only one award will be issued per project. Successful applicants may receive funding of up to 100% of the amount requested, ensuring adequate support for impactful initiatives.
To maintain accountability and support future funding opportunities, all recipients must submit a Funding Report upon project completion. Organizations that fail to submit this report will be ineligible for future grants. The Oshawa Community Grants Program offers an important opportunity for local groups to contribute to the city’s cultural vibrancy and social well-being.
