Call for Nominations for 2020 World Smart City Awards

Visual Arts Bursary Award in Ireland

Deadline: 15-Sep-20

Smart City Expo World Congress has launched a call for nominations for the 2020 World Smart City Awards. It aims to be the place to collectivize urban power, to increase the strength of cities, to identify business opportunities, to establish partnerships, and contribute to enacting common policies. A place to share research, best practices, and potential common solutions, achieved through effective collaboration.

Since the global pandemic is still impacting daily lives, the Smart City Expo team and Fira de Barcelona have been finding a new way to reconnect all the industry actors and rebuild ecosystems to accelerate a much-needed recovery. This year they are transforming their selves into an online event: Smart City Live, a one-shot, innovative edition happening digitally on November 17 – 18, 2020, that will maintain the event quality and international scope that they are known for while putting the participants’ safety first.

The World Smart City Awards (WSCA) will be one of the most important activities of this upcoming event, where pioneering city strategies, projects, and ideas will be recognized based on innovation, relevance, impact, the scope of implementation, citizen engagement, co-creation, inclusivity, feasibility, replicability, multi-stakeholder collaboration, amongst other aspects.

The WSCA has been established in order to identify cities, projects related to the topics of the event and innovative ideas that are making cities around the world more liveable, sustainable and economically viable, as well as stimulating diversity, inclusion, equity, safety, and collaboration, thus enhancing the quality of life for all.
