Nominations for the Glen Eira Citizen of the Year Awards 2023 are now open.
These Awards provide the opportunity to recognize and celebrate the commitment and contribution of people and community groups that help make a difference to the lives of the residents and local community.
The new Sustainability Award recognizes individuals, and not-for-profit community groups and organizations who demonstrate outstanding achievements in sustainability and climate action.
Categories
- Awards will be offered in the following four categories:
- Citizen of the Year
- Young Citizen of the Year
- Community Group of the Year
- Sustainability
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible for a Citizen of the Year 2023 nomination, the nominee must be a resident of Glen Eira.
- To be eligible for a Young Citizen of the Year nomination, the nominee must be a resident of Glen Eira and be 25 years or younger on 31 December 2022.
- As a Citizen of the Year or Young Citizen of the Year recipient, the nominee must have:
- made a significant contribution to the Glen Eira community throughout the year and/or over the previous years
- outstanding leadership skills and/or be a role model for other community members.
- The nominee must have also excelled in one or more of the following areas:
- aged services
- charity/humanitarian
- education
- public health
- arts/culture
- community services
- sustainability
- sports/recreation.
