The Kluz Prize for PeaceTech is pleased to announce its call for applications, inviting individuals, organizations, peacebuilding enthusiasts, inventors, and tech entrepreneurs to submit their PeaceTech achievements and/or innovative projects that harness the power of emerging technologies to foster peace.
The Kluz Prize for PeaceTech 2023 celebrates, recognizes, and propels the groundbreaking use of emerging technologies in fostering peace, reducing conflict, and safeguarding human dignity and universal human rights across the globe.
The goal of the Prize is to engage individuals, societies, and states in building up a local, national, and global PeaceTech movement. The Prize is dedicated to individuals, organizations, or initiatives for their distinguished achievements in peacebuilding, peacemaking, peacekeeping, or peace enforcement efforts.
This presents an exceptional opportunity to become recognized for your contribution to the evolving field of technologies for peace. They are seeking distinguished and accomplished PeaceTech initiatives and innovative solutions that leverage technology, including but not limited, to:
- Supporting, building and keeping peace;
- Protecting human dignity and universal human rights written in universal moral law;
- Addressing conflict, violence and social issues across local, national and international contexts;
- Preventing military conflicts within and between nations;
- Facilitating dialogue between conflicting parties;
- Protecting and supporting those impacted by conflict;
- Mobilizing disaster relief efforts more rapidly;
- Providing humanitarian aid to solve welfare conflicts;
- Monitoring human rights violations and peacekeeping efforts; and
- Solving the most basic human problems and needs such as poverty, access to water, food, healthcare, and connectivity.
In particular, the Prize seeks to:
- Recognize and reward groundbreaking PeaceTech achievements
- Encourage collaboration among global leaders, peacebuilders, technologists, entrepreneurs, investors, and policymaker
- Raise awareness about the potential of technology in fostering peace
- Engage individuals, societies, states, international organizations, and by and large new generations of young people in building up a local, national, and global PeaceTech movement
Prize Information
- The award grants the selected winner $20,000 for their accomplishments in the field and to support the further advancement of their project in the emerging field of technologies for peace.
- As part of the recognition, they will be invited to New York City to attend the award ceremony and have the opportunity to present their work to experts in the PeaceTech field.
Details
This year, the award ceremony will take place on Wednesday, September 20th, on the eve of the International Day of Peace (September 21st) during the 78th United Nations General Assembly.
