Nominations are open for 2017 Global Citizen Award, a personal development award that enables applicant’s to share their overseas volunteering experiences and help raise awareness of global issues in Ireland.
The Award is free and open to all returned international volunteers. It offers an opportunity to take what applicants have experienced overseas and continue to make a difference to Global Justice issues right here at home. The Global Citizen Award is a free personal development programme that provides you with:
- A structure to explain and share applicants volunteering stories and memories with others here at home.
- The chance to inspire others and educate their community on the global issues they witnessed.
- An opportunity to continue applicant’s volunteer journey and keep their volunteering experience alive.
- The chance to develop extra skills and gain a new personal achievement recognised at a National Award Ceremony.
Award Levels
- The Gold Global Citizen Award
- Complete pre-departure training and debriefing workshop
- Minimum 3 weeks volunteering overseas
- Write x 6 global blogs or articles
- 3 action projects
- 1 approved development education training class
- 1 volunteer commitment in Ireland (min 40 hours)
- The Silver Global Citizen Award
- Complete pre-departure training and debriefing workshop
- Minimum 3 weeks volunteering overseas
- Write x 4 global blogs or articles
- 1 action project
- The Bronze Global Citizen Award
- Complete pre-departure training and debriefing workshop
- Minimum 3 weeks volunteering overseas
- Write x 2 global blogs or articles
