The World Bank is seeking applications for its 2nd Annual Central Bank Conference on Development Economics in the Middle East and North Africa.
Sponsored by: Regional Research Network of Central Banks in the MENA region and the World Bank MENA Chief Economist Office
The RRN was launched in 2021 with the objective to stimulate economic debate across MENA countries and to strengthen research capacity in Central Banks. The RRN annual conference is sponsored by a Steering Committee composed of Heads of research departments and Chief Economists of MENA Central Banks.
The RRN Steering Committee is seeking high-quality and internationally publishable research papers on but not limited to the following topics: Inflation drivers and their ramifications globally and for the MENA region, Macroeconomic policy during a period of high interest rates, Inflation’s fiscal vulnerabilities, Structural interventions for recovery. Theoretical and empirical papers are welcome. They need not focus solely on the MENA region but must be relevant to it.

The conference will be in hybrid format in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on January 31 and February 1, 2023. The sessions will feature paper presentations, a keynote lecture, and a high-level policy panel.
