UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, is inviting proposals to support initiatives that eliminate discrimination against women and girls, empower women, and advance gender equality as a central component of development, human rights, humanitarian action, and peace and security.
The focus areas of this call include women’s voice, leadership, and agency; strengthening global normative frameworks and gender-responsive laws, policies, and institutions at national and subnational levels; effective participation and protection of women in peacebuilding, security, and humanitarian action; equitable access to services, goods, and resources; financing for gender equality and women’s economic empowerment; promotion of positive social norms, including engaging men and boys; production, analysis, and use of gender statistics, sex-disaggregated data, and knowledge; and UN system coordination for gender equality and women’s empowerment.
The budget range for proposals should fall between BRL 800,000.00 and BRL 1,115,000.00, with the project period running from 30 January 2026 to 30 October 2026.
Applicants must demonstrate proven experience in mobilizing populations in situations of socioeconomic vulnerability for both in-person and online activities related to human rights. The proposed budget must include key personnel such as an expert in digital inclusion and human rights, an expert in women’s human rights, and a designated Coordinator to liaise with UN Women.
Desirable qualifications include experience working in the ten designated project cities, either independently or in partnership with other local organizations, as well as prior experience in educational, training, and capacity-building activities for populations in socioeconomic vulnerability. Additional strengths include work on gender-related agendas, women’s mobilization, digital literacy, and engagement with women in situations of violence, or refugee and migrant women.
