Applications are currently open for Cisco Global Problem Solver Challenge inviting students and recent graduates to submit new technology solution or service to help benefit the economy, society or the environment.
Areas of Interest
Areas of impact could include, but are not limited to:
- local industry/economic development
- critical human needs (food, water, shelter, and disaster relief)
- healthcare
- economic empowerment/financial inclusion
- education
- environment
- connectivity
Prizes and Benefits
- The Grand Prize winner will receive $100,000 USD.
- The First Runner Up will receive $75,000 USD.
- Three teams will be designated the Second Runners Up and will receive $25,000 USD each.
- Four teams will be designated the Third Runners Up and will receive $10,000 USD each.
- The People’s Choice winner will receive $10,000 USD.

Eligibility Criteria
- This challenge is open to students or recent alumni from any college or university.
- This Contest is open and offered only to (1) individuals age eighteen (18) years or older at the time of registration (“Individual Participant”), 2) teams of up to five individuals age eighteen (18) years or older at the time of registration (“Team Participant”), and (3) legal business entities (“Business Entity Participant”) satisfying the following requirements:
- Individual Participant: Individuals must be either (a) current students at any post-secondary institution, or (b) recent graduates who completed a post-secondary degree after March 1, 2016.
- Team Participant: A minimum of fifty percent (50%) of the individual members comprising a team must be either (a) current students at any post-secondary institution, or (b) recent graduates who completed a post-secondary degree after March 1, 2016.
- Business Entity Participant: Business entities must be owned by a minimum of 25 percent (25%) business members who are either (a) current students at any post-secondary institution, or (b) recent graduates who completed a post-secondary degree after March 1, 2016.
