Deadline: 10-Nov-2025
The Central State Office for Croats Abroad has opened a new opportunity for organizations and individuals dedicated to strengthening the connection with Croats living abroad.
Through this Public Call, a total of 1.8 million euros has been made available to support projects that aim to preserve national identity, protect cultural heritage, and provide assistance to Croatian communities around the world.
This initiative is designed to encourage projects that promote Croatian language, culture, and traditions, while also fostering cooperation between Croats abroad and those living in Croatia. It supports efforts that bring together cultural, educational, scientific, sports, and economic initiatives, helping to maintain a sense of unity and shared identity among Croatian people everywhere.
Alongside cultural and educational activities, the Public Call also recognizes the importance of social and humanitarian support. Funding is available for projects that provide direct assistance to individuals and communities facing economic or health-related challenges. In addition, one-time financial aid is offered to vulnerable Croats abroad who live in difficult circumstances, helping to improve their quality of life and strengthen their connection to their heritage.
The program offers flexible financial support depending on the scale and scope of each project. Grants start from 700 euros and can go up to 20,000 euros per project, allowing both small community initiatives and larger organizations to participate. Vulnerable individuals may apply for one-time assistance ranging from 300 to 3,500 euros. Each applicant is allowed to submit up to two proposals, encouraging diverse ideas and broader participation.
Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations registered in Croatia or abroad, such as associations, foundations, institutions, and religious communities that have been active for at least one year. Individuals whose projects align with the goals of the program can also apply, as well as members of the Croatian people abroad who are facing social, economic, or health difficulties. All applicants are required to uphold transparency, legality, and the values outlined in Croatian law.
This funding opportunity represents an important step in strengthening ties within the global Croatian community. It provides meaningful support for those working to preserve cultural identity and heritage while also addressing the real-life needs of vulnerable individuals. Through collaboration, cultural exchange, and shared effort, this initiative helps ensure that Croatian values and traditions continue to thrive across generations and borders.
