WWF North Africa is launching a call for applications for the recruitment of new associative members of the Tunisian Climate Change Network TNCC which is currently made up of 16 Tunisian associations.
The project on “RESILIENCE” aims to mobilize and strengthen the capacities of CSOs in Tunisia to lead a constructive dialogue with the various stakeholders and public actors on resilience to climate change and to work towards the mitigation of climate change through adaptation initiatives and measures.
The WWF (World Wildlife Fund) is an international non-governmental organization whose mission is to build a future where people live in harmony with nature. WWF is the world’s leading organization for the protection of nature and the environment, and has more than 5 million donors worldwide. The organization has an operational network in 100 countries offering 1,200 nature protection programs.
Objectives
- As part of the implementation of the activities of the RESILENCE project, WWF North Africa is launching a call for applications for the recruitment of new associative members of the Tunisian Climate Change Network TNCC which is currently made up of 16 Tunisian associations. The mission of this network of CSOs engaged in the fight against the effects of climate change in Tunisia through the implementation of local initiatives is to develop joint advocacy in favor of the adaptation of Tunisia to the effects of climate change and disseminate recommendations in terms of adaptation policy developed together within the framework of the project.
- New CSOs will be able to work within a strong and active network through its charter and common network strategy, as well as its governance and functioning and by carrying out a common workable action plan in order to convince public actors to make commitments in the fight against climate change.
Project Result
- Result 1: The knowledge and advocacy capacities of the various actors in Tunisia on Nature-based Solutions (NBS) are strengthened.
- Result 2: NbS pilots are implemented and applied at the territorial level in identified urban and rural areas.
- Result 3: The resilience of territories is ensured through better management of natural resources and adaptive and community conservation measures.
Eligibility Criteria
- Be a Tunisian NGO within the meaning of Decree-Law No. 2011-88 of September 24, 2011, on the organization of associations
- Be acquitted of the legal obligations described in Decree-Law No. 2011-88 in terms of transparency and publication of accounts, at least during the year preceding this call for applications;
- The NGO should have its headquarters in Tunisia and should be established and active for at least 4 years (exists at least since October 2018)
- Proven experience in the field of environmental protection and adaptation to climate change is required.
- Tunisian NGOs are eligible for this call, applications from NGOs active in the regions of Jendouba, Siliana, Bizerte and Médenine are encouraged.
