The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has announced a call for proposals for the Improvement of CKNP Management System as Model for Mountain Ecosystems in Northern Pakistan.
Objectives
The main objective of the current assignment, in line with the objectives of the project is to improve the governance of mountain ecosystems in northern Pakistan, with regards to ecosystem services, nature conservation, the sustainable use of natural resources and promotion of effective response to climate change.
Specific objectives include:
- Participatory Action Research activities carried out in CKNP and DNP buffer valleys to promote resilient livelihood options and ecotourism with focus on women and youth.
- The capacity of local communities and government responsible organizations to cope with the risk of COVID-19 in Gilgit-Baltistan enhanced through creating awareness, skill-building and providing necessary equipment and kits.
Expected Outputs
- Output 1: Participatory Action Research activities carried out in CKNP and DNP buffer valleys to promote resilient livelihood options and ecotourism with focus on women and youth.
- Output 2: The capacity of local communities and government responsible organizations to cope with the risk of COVID-19 in Gilgit-Baltistan enhanced through creating awareness, skill-building and providing necessary equipment and kits.
Final Beneficiaries
- Responsive proposals will be those focused on strengthening sustainable natural resources management practices in Gilgit-Baltistan, with a particular focus on ensuring the needs of people (men, women and children) and environment residing in the buffer zone valleys of CKNP and DNP.
Eligibility Criteria
- The eligibility and qualification of the NGO/CSOs for the assignment shall be assessed based upon the information furnished in the Request for Information (RFI) questionnaire and capacity assessment checklist which are attached to the Call for Proposal (CFP).
- NGO/CSOs submitting proposals in response to CFP are required to fill out the RFI questionnaire and CACHE, attaching all supporting documentation where specifically requested. Attachments should be provided to support each answer to the questions in RFI questionnaire and CACHE. All questions must be answered directly and clearly. Extraneous information that is not directly responding to the questions will only constrain the ability of UNDP to positively assess the NGOs alignment with UNDP requirements.
