Deadline: 15-Jun-22
The Hindalco, an Aditya Birla company, in partnership with Manush Labs, has launched the “Clean Technology Startup Challenge 2022” to promote the idea of ‘innovate to eliminate’ and aims to benefit the humanity by catalyzing and empowering technological innovations in the domains of ‘clean-technology” and “circular economy.”
Today, the industrial sector as a whole contributes to about 25% of the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and has been one of the major contributors to the economy in terms of employment generation. But what started as a means to ease humans’ lives has now become a major threat to their existence if not looked into carefully. The waste from the industries has the potential to contaminate the natural resources of the Earth for a very long time and can alter the environment in unimaginable ways.
Focus Areas
They are inviting startups that are re-imagining sustainable industrial practices in these two focus areas:
- Material science: Sustainable packaging material
- Solid waste Utilization: Flue-gas desulphurization process waste utilization
Problem Areas
- Problem Areas 1: Inviting solutions for Plastic Packaging Replacement
- Problem Areas 2: Inviting solutions for FGD Process Waste Utilization
Duration
- This is a 6-months long program that includes understanding the roadmap of the challenge to reach the desired outcome of the program with piloting and experimentation opportunities. At the end of the program, each team would be eligible for business opportunities subject to Hindalco’s due diligence.
