Deadline: 21-Feb-22
Are you an NGO or private company that wants to start an innovative project to promote the reuse, refurbishment and repair (RRR) of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) in low- and middle-income countries? If yes, then this is your chance!
The RRR Accelerator is implemented by adelphi and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). It is part of the Innovate & PREVENT programme of the PREVENT Waste Alliance.
The RRR Accelerator is looking for innovative projects that support RRR which can be implemented in a five-month period between May and September 2022.
Help to tackle the e-waste challenge:
- E-waste makes up an increasing proportion of municipal waste and leads to a growing amount of toxic substances in local waste streams.
- Concepts for repair, refurbishment and reuse of EEE reduce the negative impact on the environment by extending product lifetime, closing resource loops and optimising resource efficiency, while providing a range of social and economic benefits.
Benefits
- Up to €20.000 of funding
- Exclusive access to peer learning and capacity building sessions
- Expert coaching and mentoring
- Individual project- and spending plan development support
- Professional marketing and outreach support
Criteria
- Eligible applicants are companies and NGOs registered in low- and middle-income countries. Applicants do not need to be a member of the PREVENT Waste Alliance.
- The organisation must be able to demonstrate a minimum of 1-year experience working with EEE or WEEE.
- Collaboration with other local or international partners is welcome, however funding will be directed to the lead organisation.
