Are you interested in issues of autonomy, minorities, peace and conflict, and the possibility to combine research and practical societal engagement? Are you curious about life on an island in the middle of the Baltic Sea? If yes, then this first Åland Peace Fellowship is for you.

The Åland Islands Peace Institute is looking for applications from researchers – in their early career as well as established ones – in the fields of law, peace research, political science, international affairs or related disciplines.

The Åland Islands Peace Institute was founded in 1992. It is an independent foundation situated in Mariehamn (Åland). At the Institute they work both practically and with research on peace and conflict issues in a broadly defined manner and from the vantage point of the special status that Åland enjoys under international law. Issues of autonomy, minorities and regional security are among the core areas of work at the Åland Islands Peace Institute.
