The Climate Change Media Partnership (CCMP) led by Internews’ Earth Journalism Network has announced Fellowship opportunities for journalists from the developing countries, to attend the 22nd Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) being held in Marrakesh, Morocco.
During the COP 22, the Fellows will benefit from a series of specially designed activities, including an orientation session, daily breakfast briefings, and most likely a field trip and a media clinic.
Program Benefits
As part of the Fellowships, the CCMP will cover travel, lodging and daily subsistence expenses, help with the press accreditation process, and provide other support services. Please note that, although the costs for visa applications can be reimbursed, the process of obtaining a visa is a Fellow’s responsibility.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this Fellowship, applicants must:
- Be a professional journalist from or representing an established media house
- Fill out the application form at the link below, including answering essay questions that illustrate his/her commitment to reporting on climate change issues
- Be available to travel to Marrakesh, Morroco with arrival in Marrakesh on Friday, November 11 and departure on Saturday, November 19
- Provide a letter of support from an editor, producer or supervisor who can confirm your ability to publish or broadcast your material in an established media organization. Freelancers are welcome to apply, but must provide a letter of support
