The Open Society Documentary Photography Project is soliciting submissions for a new joint exhibition and fellowship opportunity focused on the topic of migration.

Selected projects will be featured in the next installment of their ongoing Moving Walls exhibition series, opening in September 2018 at the Open Society Foundations—New York.

The Open Society Foundation is inviting proposals about the work that engages with topics of migration, identity, belonging, and resilience from a variety of perspectives. Proposals are encourage applicants to interpret these themes broadly.

A wide range of photo- and image-based approaches, including documentary photography, conceptual photography, video art, video installation, social practice, archival or aggregated projects, interactive and emerging media (including virtual and augmented reality), and information art (using photography and/or associated data).

Funding Information

Selected artists will also receive a fellowship of $30,000–$60,000 to support ongoing or future work on the theme of migration.
