Deadline: 16-Jul-2020
The Senior Research Fellowships support independent researchers who are emerging as global leaders in their field and want to tackle the most important questions in science.
What is a senior (independent) researcher?
Independent researchers will have a PhD and substantial research experience and already be leading their own independent research programme. At this career stage a researcher is expected to have previously held independent funding such as project, programme or fellowship support.
The award includes:
- a basic salary (determined by your host organisation)
- a fellowship supplement of £12,500 if you’re paid on a non-clinical salary scale
- personal removal expenses
- research expenses, including research staff
Duration
Typically 5 years, but can be up to 7 years if a strong scientific justification is provided (after this you can apply for one renewal of up to 5 years with 50% of your salary covered by them).
