The Shchedryk Charitable Foundation has launched a competition aimed at supporting self-employment and micro-entrepreneurship in Mykolaiv and Mykolaiv region through the development of fruit and vegetable growing businesses.
Focus Areas/Objectives/Priorities/Themes: The initiative is being implemented with the assistance of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine within the framework of the “Mykolaiv Restored” project with financial support from the Government of Denmark. The goal of the project is to support self-employment and micro-entrepreneurship initiatives in Mykolaiv and the Mykolaiv region through the purchase and transfer of standardized equipment packages (SEPs) for the development or start-up of one’s own business in the field of fruit growing.
Under this initiative, standardized equipment packages will be awarded on a competitive basis to selected participants. The selection process will take into account the professional experience, education, and motivation of the applicants. Each package will include a 6×15 meter greenhouse equipped with a heating and ventilation system, allowing for year-round vegetable growing and sustainable income generation.
The competition is open to adult citizens of Ukraine who permanently reside in Mykolaiv or the Mykolaiv region, as well as to individual entrepreneurs registered in these target territories at the time of application. However, individuals who have received funding from UNDP in Ukraine or from other international projects for business start-up or development within the last 12 months are not eligible to apply.
Interested applicants are required to complete an online application form by November 12, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. (Kyiv time). Applications will be reviewed and evaluated to identify the most promising business ideas capable of contributing to the region’s economic recovery and sustainability.
For consultation or assistance, applicants may contact the hotline numbers available from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. This initiative represents a significant step toward empowering local communities by fostering entrepreneurship and supporting the agricultural economy in one of Ukraine’s key regions.
