Deadline: 19-Mar-2026
The Elisabeth and Amélie Fund is inviting project proposals from Belgian organisations working in Africa, Latin America, and Asia to improve access to water through sustainable partnerships with local actors.
The focus of the call is on water management in family farming, based on the principles of agroecology and resilience to global change. Submitted projects should address different aspects of integrated water management in family farming, including availability of and access to good quality water, protection of the resource, efficient use, reduction of losses, limitation of contamination, effective governance, coordination, and should present structural preventive solutions.
Projects must also demonstrate a concerted approach by the various stakeholders involved in a shared resource, include concrete measures for a better distribution of responsibilities and tasks within the family unit and its community, and integrate an awareness-raising component among various stakeholders and the community on topics of water management, the environment and agroecology practices, and hygiene.
Projects may receive up to €50,000 in funding, and eligible applicants must be Belgian organisations collaborating with local partners actively involved in every phase of the project.
The Fund supports initiatives that recognise water as a shared resource essential for farming, livestock, and human consumption, especially in the face of growing climate challenges and pressure on natural resources. By focusing on sustainable and equitable water management, the Elisabeth & Amélie Fund seeks to promote long-term resilience and community wellbeing.
