Deadline: 11-Nov-2025
Pfizer Global Medical Grants, in partnership with The George Washington University (GWU), has announced the renewal of their collaborative grant initiative designed to improve access to quality dermatologic care across underserved regions of the United States.
This renewed program builds on the success of previous collaborations, aiming to further implement the Teledermatology Help Desk Clinic model, a proven approach to expanding access to care for patients with inflammatory skin conditions such as Atopic Dermatitis (AD) and other inflammatory dermatoses.
Through this initiative, Pfizer and GWU seek to promote equitable healthcare by leveraging teledermatology to bridge gaps in dermatologic expertise and treatment availability. The model enables remote consultation and support, enhancing both patient outcomes and provider capacity in regions where dermatology services are limited.
A single project will be selected to receive up to $250,000 in funding, supporting an implementation period of up to 18 months, with an anticipated start date of March 2026 and completion by September 2027. The grant aims to enable innovative, scalable, and sustainable projects that can demonstrate measurable improvements in access to and quality of dermatologic care.
Eligible applicants include organizations with expertise in the management and education of healthcare professionals treating inflammatory skin diseases. This includes medical, nursing, allied health, and pharmacy schools; healthcare institutions of all sizes; professional associations and medical societies; and medical education or healthcare improvement organizations. Collaborative projects involving multiple departments or partner institutions are encouraged, provided each participant plays a defined and relevant role.
Applicants are also urged to include community-based collaborators to strengthen local impact and to outline sustainability plans ensuring the continuation of activities beyond the grant period. Only organizations—not individuals or physician-owned practices—are eligible to apply.
This renewed partnership between Pfizer and GWU underscores a shared commitment to advancing equitable access to dermatologic care, fostering innovation in telehealth delivery, and empowering healthcare institutions to better serve patients with chronic inflammatory skin conditions across the nation.
