The SafeWork NSW Government is pleased to launch a call for nominations for the SafeWork NSW Awards to recognise businesses and individuals for excellence in work health and safety.
As part of the Work Health and Safety Roadmap 2022, the aim is to embed the ‘health and safety landscape’ in NSW workplaces to ensure every job is designed to be safe. Supporting and protecting workers at risk through improved processes and industry innovation will help them achieve the vision of healthy, safe and productive lives.
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on Wednesday 13 October 2021.
Categories
- Category 1 – Businesses
- All NSW businesses can nominate for Category 1: Outstanding solution to a high risk work health and safety issue for workers at risk
- Small business (non-government) – Regional
- Small business (non-government) – Metropolitan
- Medium business (non-government) – Regional
- Medium business (non-government) – Metropolitan
- Large business (non-government) – Regional
- Large business (non-government) – Metropolitan
- Large business (government)
- Use the following definitions to help you select the correct sub-category for your entry:
- Small business: 0-19 employees
- Medium business: 20-199 employees
- Large business: 200 or more employees
- All NSW businesses can nominate for Category 1: Outstanding solution to a high risk work health and safety issue for workers at risk
- Category 2 – Unions and industry associations
- Category 2 recognises outstanding work health and safety support to members managing workers at risk. This category has two sub-categories:

Eligibility Criteria
- Entries are open to businesses, unions and industry associations that operate and/or are based in NSW who have implemented work health and safety interventions to protect workers at risk.
- To be eligible for the 2021 SafeWork NSW Awards, your business must:
- be registered with an Australian Business Number (ABN)
- be based in and/or operate in NSW
- have a certificate of currency for your worker’s compensation policy
