The Mercy Foundation’s Grants to End Homelessness program presents a compelling opportunity for non‑profit organisations in Australia to seed innovative initiatives, services, research, and advocacy projects designed to contribute to the long‑term goal of ending homelessness.
Projects that focus on ending and preventing women’s homelessness, especially chronic homelessness, are priority areas for the program. They prioritise projects that provide lasting solutions to people’s homelessness.
Organisations with a clear strategy to address chronic or recurrent homelessness — especially among women — are highly encouraged to apply. Funding ranges from approximately AUD $5,000 to $60,000, allowing small to medium sized non‑profits to access meaningful support. Projects must deliver measurable outcomes that advance the understanding of pathways into or out of homelessness or demonstrably reduce housing insecurity.
Eligible applicants must be legal entities, not‑for‑profit, with turnover under AUD $3 million preferred, and they must operate within Australia. The programme does not fund recurrent or indefinite services or emergency crisis responses but instead targets sustainable, long‑term solutions to homelessness and supportive housing models. Applicants should reach out to discuss project proposals with the Foundation ahead of submission to maximise their chances of success.
