Vinnova is inviting applications for projects that strengthen research expertise and improve system understanding to support sustainable development in the metal and mineral supply sector. The initiative is part of the Swedish Metals & Minerals program under Impact Innovation, which aims to enhance innovation capacity and long-term collaboration across the sector.
Focus Areas
The program supports the development of a model to strengthen, integrate, and develop doctoral students as key contributors to the metals and minerals innovation system, testing and evaluating tools and methods, disseminating project results, exploring opportunities for long-term management, strengthening collaboration across the metal and mineral value chain, and advancing sustainable innovation within the sector.
Funding Information
Applicants may receive up to SEK 12 million, covering a maximum of 80% of the project’s total eligible costs.
Program Objectives
The initiative seeks to strengthen research competence and system-level understanding in the metals and minerals sector by developing sustainable collaboration models that connect academia, industry, and other stakeholders. It also aims to enhance the role of doctoral students in driving innovation while supporting the long-term development of Sweden’s metal and mineral innovation ecosystem.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must establish a consortium consisting of at least 10 project partners.
The partnership must include broad representation from across the entire metal and mineral value chain.
Projects should align with the objectives of the Swedish Metals & Minerals program under the Impact Innovation initiative.
