Applications are now open for the Edge Fund that efforts to achieve social, economic and environmental justice, and to end imbalances of wealth and power.
The fund work that challenges abuses of power and aims to bring an end to systems that cause injustice.

Funding Information
- They give 40 grants of £1000 to groups in the UK.
- They run 2 funding cycles a year.
What they do fund?
- Work that creates long-term change in society by addressing the causes of injustice and inequality.
- Work addressing issues facing a particular community that is led by that community (eg a group working on issues around sex work should be led by people with direct lived experience of sex work).
- Groups based in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England
- Groups that struggle to get funding elsewhere, particularly if other funders might consider them to be too radical.
- All types of non-profit organizations, including groups that are not formally registered.
What they do not fund?
- Traditional charities or charitable work
- Groups that are primarily providing services to others
- Commercial or business activity
- Groups with an annual income over £25,000
- Groups that have several paid staff
- International groups or issues, unless they are targeting a UK-Based company or institution
- Political parties
- Groups whose primary aim is to promote religious ideas
- Groups that receive funding from mainstream sources, such as the National Lottery Community Fund or local council
- They are not currently accepting applications from individuals. They suggest that you find a few like-minded people and create a group for your project
- Groups which have been formed within 6 months of applying to Edge Fund, and / or cannot demonstrate 6 months of regular activity. If your group does not have an online presence, please expect to show them what you do, eg through social media, press releases, meeting minutes, photos etc.
- In the spirit of honesty, openness and transparency, they ask you to inform them of any major financial changes to your group between applying, and the funding day. If during the funding round, they find that your group has not informed them of notable financial changes (a grant of £3000 or above), or there are significant inaccuracies in your group’s application , they reserve the right not to issue any grant to your group.
