The Kent Community Foundation is accepting applications for its grant program to support Local Charities groups, in particular small community and voluntary groups that are charitable in purpose and are working for the benefit of people in Kent and Medway.
Themes
- Children, Young People & Families: Projects that are making a real difference to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in Kent and Medway. Projects supporting young people who are disadvantaged which might include: living in poverty or deprivation, abuse or neglect, disability, young carers, children in care, bereavement, mental health issues, disability, low aspiration or poor achievement.
- Elderly & Isolated: Local projects that address the challenges faced by elderly adults and support people to stay well, healthy and independent and, most importantly, combat social isolation.
- Vulnerable Adults: Projects that help vulnerable adults stay well and independent, with a focus on early intervention projects to tackle disadvantage, deprivation and social exclusion. A vulnerable person is someone who may need care and is unable to protect themselves from harm or exploitation.
- Employability, Skills & Enterprise: Projects which raise the aspirations and increase the skills and opportunities of people who are far from the labour market. The aim of the Employment, Skills & Enterprise Themed Fund is to make a real difference to the lives of people who are far from the labour market.
- Environment: Think global, act local – projects which encourage local community action to improve the spaces in which they live and educational work focusing on the impact of climate change on the local communities across Kent and Medway.

Average grants size up to £4,000.
Eligibility Criteria
If you are new to Kent Community Foundation please ensure you can answer ‘yes’ to the following questions before submitting an application.
- Will you be completing work for the benefit or Kent and/or Medway?
- Are you a registered charity, CIO, CIC, company limited by guarantee (not shares) or a fully constituted group with a constitution/governing document with charitable purposes and a dissolution clause?
- Does your organisation have at least three unrelated members of management? (directors, trustees, committee members or any other members of management committee). Please note you will need to have at least two unrelated bank signatories as well.
