On the occasion of International Fact-Checking Day, the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF) has launched a new call for projects for twinning French-speaking initiatives to combat information disorder.
Objective
- The general objective of the call for projects ” Twinning between French-speaking initiatives to combat information disorder ” is twofold. On the one hand, it aims to promote cooperation between initiatives French-speaking organizations to combat information disorders from member states and governments, associates or observers of the Francophonie; and on the other hand, to contribute to the appropriation of practices to combat information disorders by the greatest number (in particular vulnerable categories such as women and young people).

- The call for projects “Twinning between French-speaking initiatives to combat information disorder” aims to support the sharing of expertise, experiences and good practices to strengthen particularly the following areas:
Funding Information
- The selected twinning projects will benefit from funding of between €25,000 and €50,000 (maximum).
Duration
- The maximum duration extended to 12 months.
Target Audience
- Several actors are putting their talents and expertise to use in order to counter information disorders and to serve the right of populations to reliable, fair and informed information, meeting the standards of production and dissemination of quality information. The target of this call for projects are the media, journalists, non-governmental organizations, research centers, universities, educational institutions or structures, and any other actor with relevant expertise and actions in the field of combating information disorders.
Eligibility Criteria

- To be eligible for the call for projects, the consortium of initiatives (project coordinator and partners) must:
- Prepare a complete application file
- Submit their project proposal in accordance with the application form provided disposition;
- Submit their project proposal in French.
- To be eligible for the call for projects, the consortium of initiatives (project coordinator and partners) must:
- Eligibility criteria relating to twinning partner initiatives
- By French-speaking initiative to combat information disorder, they mean:
- fact-checking initiatives;
- media and information literacy initiatives;
- research initiatives on information disorder phenomena;
- initiatives to support the structuring, development and promotion of projects to combat information disorders.
- By French-speaking initiative to combat information disorder, they mean:
- These initiatives can be:
- non-profit organizations (private or public);
- universities;
- research centers;
- educational institutions or structures;
- media companies;
- for-profit entities;
- The call for projects is open to twinning between French-speaking initiatives to combat information disorder that will submit their projects as a consortium. To be eligible, Partner initiatives of the twinning project must meet the following criteria:
- Be endowed, at least for the main coordinator (leader) of the twinning project, with legal personality, i.e be registered with the authorities of a State or member government of the Francophonie;
- Justify, for the main coordinator (leader), at least one (1) year of legal existence for the twinning project and have a document attesting to this;
- Provide, for the main coordinator (leader), proof of at least one (1) year of experience in the effective implementation of activities in at least one (1) of the areas of expertise and skills covered by the call for twinning projects;
