Focus Areas
- As a corporate foundation, the giving furthers the philanthropic goals of the business, with a narrow focus on programs that support first responders and technology and engineering education.
- First responder programming
- They support first responders via programs that provide mental wellness and stress management training, scholarships to families of fallen first responders, safety preparedness to schools and leadership development for underrepresented groups.
- Technology & engineering education
- From engaging students through hands-on engineering activities like computer science, coding and robotics to providing scholarship and workforce placement for underrepresented and underserved groups, they’re committed to creating opportunities for future innovators.
- Embracing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
- They believe that providing opportunity amongst underserved communities helps to advance creativity, drive productivity and promote equitable access. As such, they make it a priority to support programs that benefit underserved and underrepresented populations, including women, people with disabilities, the LGBTQ community, veterans and others.

Funding Information
- The maximum request amount is $50,000 USD; however, returning grant recipients may request more than $50,000 USD.
Location
- With employees located around the globe, Motorola Solutions seeks to benefit the communities where it operates, and the Motorola Solutions Foundation prioritizes programs in these communities as well. The Foundation also prioritizes giving to universities from which Motorola Solutions recruits.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Motorola Solutions Foundation team will then select those organizations that most align with the focus on first responder programming and technology/engineering education.
- An organization can submit multiple applications. However, the Foundation will likely fund just one program per organization.
- The Foundation prioritizes initiatives that directly engage participants in structured ongoing programming over multiple touchpoints, rather than a one-time event. The Foundation does not support event sponsorships through its annual grants program.
- They don’t accept applications for multi-year grants. However, organizations may apply for a grant year after year.
