Deadline: 31-May-25
The AirAsia Foundation is now accepting applications from social enterprises, organisations or groups with a strong track record in creating positive change. If you’re working on a project that is impactful, innovative, and community-driven, they would love to hear from you!
At AirAsia Foundation, they believe in the power of innovation to create lasting social and environmental impact. Their grants are designed to help Asean-based and Asean-led social enterprises, organisations and community groups grow their businesses and initiatives, ensuring they continue making a difference.
Focus Areas
- They look for businesses or projects that bring long term benefits to communities and the environment, with a special consideration for sustainable travel and climate resilience projects. However, they also consider other high-impact initiatives. Your project should:
- Clearly define a new initiative or the expansion of an existing one, with achievable goals within 12 months.
- Use funding for purposes such as, but not limited to, developing and marketing new products or services, training community members, or purchasing assets to support expansion. Please note that they do not fund operating cash flow, land purchases or building acquisition.
- Demonstrate how the investment will help generate income to sustain your business or enable the continuity of your initiative beyond the grant period.
Funding Information
- Funding of up to USD 20,000
- Opportunity to access to AirAsia’s vast network to help amplify your impact
- Pro bono support, depending on your organisation’s needs
Eligibility Criteria
- Their main criteria for selection are:
- Impact on intended beneficiaries
- They would like to know about your social or environmental objectives and how your enterprise is meeting your goals. Tell them about your communities and how they will be impacted.
- Innovativeness of the approach
- They are interested to know how your social enterprise stands out from others. Are you applying a new approach or are you creating a product or service with a unique selling point?
- Sustainability beyond the funding period
- An important criteria they look out for is the ability to continue after the funding period. Tell them how their grant can help you generate income that can be reinvested into growing your business or enable the continuity of your initiative beyond the funding period.
- Ability to tap on AirAsia’s strengths
- Other than grant funding, is there any other way you can leverage on the AirAsia network to further your objectives?
- To enable them to promote your social enterprises to their guests, they prioritise social enterprises that are based in a village/town/city that is within reasonable reach of an airport served by AirAsia in Asean.
- Impact on intended beneficiaries
