Deadline: 19-Jun-25
The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) in Armenia has launched a call for applications to establish contingency partnerships with community-based organizations aimed at enhancing local emergency readiness.
This initiative prioritizes strengthening capacities in disaster preparedness and response across multiple sectors, including health, nutrition, child protection, WASH (water, sanitation, hygiene), education, and social support.
Through this program, partners will work directly with local authorities and communities to boost resilience, develop preparedness plans, and deliver timely, effective responses when crises occur.
Applications are open to qualified civil society organizations and grassroots groups with a strong track record in delivering humanitarian assistance. Grants are intended to support scalable pilot interventions that can be quickly implemented and adapted to changing emergency scenarios.
Proposals should clearly outline collaborative approaches involving local stakeholders, describe capacity-building activities such as training and planning, and detail the expected outcomes in terms of strengthened community readiness and reduced risk.
While specific funding amounts have not been publicly disclosed, successful applications will receive financial support tailored to the design and scale of each proposal, enabling mission-critical activities like emergency simulation exercises, provision of response kits, early warning system upgrades, and outreach initiatives.
The deadline for submitting applications is June 19, 2025, and early submissions are advised due to anticipated high interest. Selected recipients will partner closely with UNICEF during the implementation phase to ensure integrated planning and coordination with existing national and local emergency frameworks.
