The Northern Territory Government has announced the applications for Arts and Culture COVID-19 Interruption Support Grants – Round 3.
A strong and vibrant art and cultural sector is integral to the health and well-being of the communities. It will underpin the economic recovery of the Territory, achieved through providing opportunities to grow the creative and cultural economy, encourage artistic excellence and achievement, and community participation in arts and culture.
The Northern Territory Government, through Arts NT, supports the arts and cultural sector through the delivery of:
- arts policy, strategies, research, and advice to the NT Government and arts sector;
- funding and partnership programs that build the capacity and sustainability of the arts and cultural industries;
- funding for artists, arts workers, arts and cultural organisations, and community groups that support arts and cultural industry development, community access, and participation in arts and culture; and
- arts and cultural infrastructure development and support through NT Government leased and owned venues and facilities.
Funding Information
- Funding is limited to one application per applicant and can include multiple event claims.
- For Territory artists, arts workers, and arts organisations:
- Up to $2,000 per application for individuals; and
- Up to $6,000 per application for organisations.
Eligibility Criteria
Individuals
- Individuals are practising NT artists, arts workers or cultural practitioners. Individual applicants must be:
- an Australian citizen or have permanent residence status;
- over 18 years of age; and
- a current resident of the Northern Territory.
- If you are an individual operating as a Sole Trader with an ABN you must apply as an organisation in GrantsNT.
- Evidence of residential status may be requested by way of driver’s license, power bill, and electoral roll registration. Individuals can not apply for funding on behalf of another individual, unless authorised by that individual due to accessibility.
- Employees of the NT Government are ineligible to apply where there is a direct conflict of interest.
Groups
- Groups not legally constituted must identify an individual in the group to be legally and financially responsible for the grant. The responsible individual must meet the above criteria for individuals.
Organisations
- Organisations must be not-for-profit, legally constituted and be producers of, or operate in support the arts. Organisations must have their main place of business registered in the Northern Territory. Entities registered and operating outside of the Territory cannot apply.
- Sole Traders must have an active ABN and can be for-profit.
- NT Government agencies and associated entities, local government bodies and education institutions are ineligible.
