Arts Infrastructure Grants for Emerging Artists program is now open for applications to provide onetime capital improvement or equipment acquisition grants to emerging New Brunswick artists or newlyarrived immigrants to acquire tools and equipment or improve their facilities and infrastructures to strengthen their long-term capacity to create work.
Applicants to this program must demonstrate:
- A record of artistic achievement and quality of work; A clarity and rationale for proposed capital improvement or equipment acquisition, including identification of specific costs, tools and materials required; and
- The impact of the proposed funding on the artist’s career and ability to create new work.
Funding Information
- Maximum Grant Amount: $2,500
- Eligible artistic disciplines include: architecture, craft, dance, literary arts (including spoken word, storytelling, literary performance and literary translation), media arts, multidisciplinary arts, classical and non-classical music, theatre and visual arts.
- Eligible genres for all artistic disciplines include those whose intent and/or content places creativity, selfexpression and/or experimentation the current demands and format expectations of the mainstream industry, and has a significance beyond being solely a form of entertainment.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible artists are those who:
- Meet the professional artist criteria;
- Are Canadian citizens or permanent residents;
- Have resided in New Brunswick for at least one year (12 months) prior to the application deadline;
- Senior, Mid-Career and Emerging Artist Criteria by Discipline OR first became permanent residents of Canada less than 5 years ago; and
- Do not have an overdue Final Report for any project funded by artsnb.
Restrictions:
- An artist is not eligible who has previously received a Creation grant in Category A or Category B, or who is presently in consideration for such a grant.
- Students attending an educational institution on a full-time basis are not eligible.
- An artist may receive only one grant from the Arts Infrastructure for New and Emerging Artists program in their career.
