Applications are now open for the Multicultural Community Support Grants Program to help the community and multicultural media foster programs to support the community.
Funding will provide much needed support to community organisations and media to continue their excellent work in helping to keep NSW safe. Funding will also support Festivals and Events that celebrate and embrace their state’s vibrant cultural diversity, while ensuring health and safety remains a priority.
Categories
There are three categories of grants under the Multicultural Community Support Grants Program:
- COVID Community Support Grants: The COVID-19 pandemic has presented significant challenges to their multicultural sector and community.
- Multicultural Media Grants: Multicultural Media play an essential role in supporting their strong and socially inclusive society.
- Festivals and events: Multicultural NSW supports Festivals & Events that celebrate and embrace their state’s vibrant cultural diversity.
Funding Information
- COVID Community Support Grants: Grants of $5,000 are available.
- Multicultural Media Grants: Grants of $5,000 or $10,000 are available.
- Festivals and events: Grants of $5,000 or $10,000 are available.
Eligibility Criteria
- COVID Community Support Grants:
- To be eligible for grant funding an organisation must:
- be a non-profit sharing organisation
- be located within NSW
- demonstrate how their project will address the program criteria
- demonstrate how the project will measure outcomes
- demonstrate that the project is cost effective and viable with an accurate budget
- have all appropriate insurances and licenses
- submit an application online through the Multicultural NSW approved SmartyGrants portal before the closing date with all aspects of the application form completed
- if successful, complete an evaluation framework supplied by Multicultural NSW
- deliver the project within three months of receiving the grant
- promote the Multicultural NSW and NSW Government funded event or project on their website and social media platforms.
- To be eligible for grant funding an organisation must:
- Multicultural Media Grants:
- To be eligible for grant funding an organisation must be:
- currently operating in NSW
- currently producing media for multicultural audiences including one or more of the following; print, radio, digital, podcasts and/or social media.
- You must also have:
- a current Australian Business Number (ABN)
- To be eligible for grant funding an organisation must be:
- Festivals and events:
- To be eligible for grant funding an organisation must:
- be located within NSW
- demonstrate how the Festival or Event includes activities that focus on showcasing and sharing cultures and traditions. This may or may not be an online event.
- attach a plan demonstrating how they will meet NSW health guidelines and COVID-19 regulations
- if successful, attend a mandatory COVID-19 health briefing session before holding their events
- outline how they will collect attendance data to be shared with Multicultural NSW post event
- demonstrate how the Festival or Event will measure outcomes
- clearly show co-contributions from applications towards the projects/events. It is unlikely that the project will be funded if there is no co-contribution
- confirm other funding sources that are contributing to the total event budget
- confirm past and current funding sources for the past three years
- have acquitted all prior grants
- be a non-profit sharing organisation
- demonstrate that the Event or Project is cost effective and viable with an accurate budget
- have all appropriate insurances and licences
- submit an application online through the Multicultural NSW approved SmartyGrants portal before the closing date with all aspects of the application form completed
- deliver the Festival or Event before 30 June 2021
- promote the Multicultural NSW and NSW Government funded event or project on their website and social media platforms.
