Deadline: 24-Apr-22
Applications for the NYANSAPO project are open to all public and private higher education and research institutions in Ghana and France.
The main objective will be to support the existing Ghanaian training and research programs, by co-constructing training programs adapted to local needs, i.e., targeting innovative sectors with high potential in terms of job creation in Ghana.
Projects must be developed and carried out jointly by a Franco-Ghanaian consortium or duo. The constitution of networks composed of at least one Ghanaian and one French partner, and/or open to co-financing by private partners, will be encouraged. The majority of the funds will be allocated to the Ghanaian partner(s).
Objectives
- Main objective
- To support the cooperation initiatives of French and Ghanaian higher education and research institutions, around the central objective of the employability of young Ghanaian graduates, by accompanying the upgrading of the existing Ghanaian training and research offer.
- Sub-objectives
- Research component: Strengthen scientific and technological exchanges of excellence between France and Ghana, by supporting the structuring of research networks, the training of young researchers and the valorization of research for the benefit of society.
Aims
In concrete terms, the projects submitted will aim to:

Activities
- Structuring research networks between France and Ghana
- To support the development and structuring of research networks between at least two research centers (one French / one Ghanaian). Research teams belonging to Ghanaian / French institutions that have demonstrated their research and research training capacities are concerned. Projects presenting joint actions between more than two partners, and interdisciplinary scientific approaches, will be encouraged.
- Transfer of skills and capacity building of young researchers
- Set up activities to strengthen research training through research for young researchers in Ghana, and support the transfer of skills and innovation to/in Ghanaian laboratories. Projects developing activities dedicated to the training of doctoral students or researchers at the beginning of their careers, as well as to the consideration of innovation and skills transfer, are particularly expected.
- Valorization of research results
- The valorization of research for economic development, employability and for the benefit of the populations is a central objective of this project. The opening up of research to society, through actions aimed at using the results of research, the skills that it allows to develop, and to commercialize the products and services, is a major challenge of the Ghanaian research and innovation policy and of the institutions created for this purpose.
