The Doria Feminist Fund’s Grant in Recognition of Feminist Action is an integral part of the Doria Feminist Fund’s holistic approach and theory of change in solidarity with emerging and intergenerational movements in North Africa through resources, acts of recognition, and storytelling.
This grant celebrates and recognizes the feminist struggle and hard-won gains in the face of patriarchy, racism, colonization, and various systems of power that reinforce and perpetuate inequality.

Submission Criteria
- Nominations from organizations
- Feminist organizations and movements in North Africa are invited to nominate affiliates, founders, and directors, as well as feminist activists who exemplify exceptional feminist leadership.
- Review Process
- The committee will review and finalize the selection process for 6 women activists, each with a maximum grant amount of USD 15,000. The final selection will be made by mid-April.
- Organizations are invited to submit nominations on behalf of the candidates:
- Each organization should nominate only one activist/individual and should provide:
- A written statement or video recording of up to 3 minutes describing the individual’s journey, sources of inspiration, and vision for feminist transformation.
- Examples of high-impact initiatives or campaigns that she has led, accompanied by materials such as photos, articles or testimonials.
- A reflection on how the grant awarded by the Doria Feminist Fund in recognition of her feminist action would amplify her work and contribute to the broader feminist movement.
- Two letters of support showing the impact of the work done by the activist.
- Feminist organizations and movements in Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Sudan, and Tunisia are invited to nominate affiliates, founders, and directors, as well as feminist activists who exemplify outstanding feminist leadership.
