The Intergovernmental Authority on Development is accepting proposals for its Innovation Grants for Women and Youth Peace Initiatives.
IGAD/Gender in close collaboration with the Japan Government through the project on Empowering women and youth in the IGAD region: Overcoming Barriers to Meaningful Participation Leadership and peace and security, made available small grants to contribute to efforts for women and youth initiatives working towards promotion of peace and security in in IGAD Member States.
The Grant is aimed to supporting innovative women and youth led initiatives that advance inclusive peace and security solutions with the potential for national and regional impact.
The Innovation Grants will provide direct financial support to emerging women and youth peace initiatives, enabling them to test and implement creative approaches to conflict transformation. The program seeks to fund country-level projects that align with Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) objectives and have the potential for regional impact.
Priority Areas
- Priority will be given to initiatives that demonstrate:
- Innovation: Unique and creative approaches to peacebuilding.
- Feasibility: A clear plan for implementation and sustainability.
- Regional Impact Potential: The ability to influence beyond local communities.
Funding Information
- The amount available for each project: Up to equivalent USD 10,000 for each Regular Project.
- Implementation Timeline: Maximum of three months from inception to completion.
Eligibility Criteria
- They welcome applications from:
- Women-led and youth-led organizations working on peace and security.
- Community-based initiatives with innovative approaches to conflict transformation.
- Projects with the potential to scale at a regional level.
