Deadline: 16-Oct-2024
Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance is accepting proposals for the CSO Funding Grant Program.
Types of Grants
- Approximately six Impact Grants and three Accelerator Grants are available for CAR. Impact Grants are for large CSOs working in the immunization space, and Accelerator Grants are for small CSOs working or looking to work in the health and immunization space.
Purpose of the grants
- The overall objective of the grants is to expand vaccination coverage by increasing community demand and service utilization, with a focus on unvaccinated and under-vaccinated children in geographically and security-challenged areas.
- The specific objectives of the grant are as follows:
- Objective 1: Increase demand for vaccination services
- CSOs will engage at the community level, tailoring their approaches to different populations and geographic areas. This involves integrating community leaders and community health workers (CHWs) who are registered with the government, where appropriate, as well as other community actors such as women’s groups, and youth associations.
- CSOs will also work closely with the Ministry of Health and Population at different levels of the health pyramid in order to align their efforts with the national community health strategy but also with the service provision and demand activation activities planned and implemented at the district and health facility (FOSAS) levels.
- The beneficiary CSOs will willingly draw inspiration from initiatives already carried out at the country level which have proven their effectiveness and impact, but also from innovations currently being implemented with high potential for impact within the framework of programs supported by Gavi, but also from other vaccination partners in the CAR.
- Objective 2: Support for service delivery
- CSOs should strengthen the capacities of health districts and FOSAs by collaboratively and synergistically developing advanced and mobile vaccination strategies by involving communities to ensure ownership.
- CSOs should ensure, in consultation with health structures, that availability of vaccine doses in the context of the preparation and organization of service delivery activities.
- Objective 1: Increase demand for vaccination services
