The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking proposals from NGOs or CSOs for the Project “Promoting CSO-led peacebuilding initiatives in the Lake Chad Basin region”.
Objective
- The objective of the project is to promote the implementation by CSOs/CBOs of local and cross-border peacebuilding initiatives in the intervention areas of the Stabilization Program implemented by UNDP since 2020 in the provinces of Lac and Hadjer Lamis, through a strengthening and promoting the capacities of local CSOs/CBOs to design, plan and form partnerships based on local needs that they have identified, in collaboration with UNDP, as relevant, taking into account the cross border dimension.
- The project promotes peacebuilding initiatives implemented by civil society at the local level and streamlines the joint engagement of CSOs/CBOs in stabilization action plans. It will also contribute to the empowerment of women and youth by encouraging the engagement and leadership of the organizations they lead.
- This call for proposals aims to recruit one or more NGOs/CSOs with a presence and in-depth knowledge of the security and sociological contexts in the intervention areas of the Fund for the Stabilization of the Lake Chad Basin Region.
Lots
- Lot 1: Civic education, public information and awareness and human rights.
- Lot 2: Prevention of conflicts linked to pastoralism, and monitoring and early warning mechanism.
- Lot 3: Intercommunity social cohesion and cross-border.
- Lot 4: Development community and environmental protection.
Funding Information
- Proposal amounts should range from a minimum of USD 50,000 for direct interventions in a single community/activity or geographic area to a maximum of USD 55,000.
Duration
- The duration of the implementation is eight (04) months.
Eligibility Criteria
- This call for project proposals is addressed to Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) National or Civil Society Organizations,
- To be considered eligible, NGOs/CSOs must meet the following preliminary criteria:
- Not appear on the list of organizations linked to terrorism, money laundering or any other act deemed incompatible with the values of the United Nations (Failure to meet this criterion automatically results in disqualification);
- Demonstrate good financial stability: an average annual budget of at least 30,000,000 FCFA (or the equivalent in USD) over the last two years (2021/2022, or 2022/2023) – Each bidder is required to submit certified financial statements for the years 2021 and 2022 or the equivalent document.
- Have a bank account in the name of the bidding organization in a bank recognized;
- Have the recognition/agreements of the Ministry of Community Development and Regional Planning, or any other ministry responsible for the supervision of NGOs and CSOs in Chad;
- Have had at least one financial audit carried out by recognized audit firms over the past two years.
