The Global Environment Facility’s (GEF) Small Grants Programme (SGP) supports Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in developing countries by providing financing to address global environmental challenges while meeting local needs for sustainable development.
Currently in its 7th Operational Phase, the SGP seeks to “promote innovative, inclusive and replicable initiatives, and foster local partnerships to address global environmental challenges in priority terrestrial and marine areas”.
UNDP/UNOPS invites interested institutions to submit project proposals in the areas of environment and climate change, to be implemented in the Chimanimani-Gorongosa-Marromeu and Matutuine landscapes, in the provinces of Sofala and Maputo.
Funding Information
- The amount available for each project is a maximum of 20,000 USD
Duration
- The duration of each project must not exceed 12 months from the date of signature of the Contract, and must be implemented in the period 2024-2025.
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible, you must be a national CSO/OCB/NGO/academic institution with the following requirements:
- Be a duly registered CSO, NGO or national academic with at least 2 years of experience;
- Be an institution focused on responding to challenges in communities in at least one of the GEF areas (biodiversity, climate change, land management, waste management, international waters);
- Be a local organization operating in the landscapes of Chimanimani-Gorongosa-Marromeu and Matutuine;
- Submit a proposal that does not exceed US$20,000.
