Do you need a grant for your Meet and Code event? Calling all Non-profit Organizations (NPOs)! Meet and Code is proud to announce that following two years of virtual and hybrid events, they are welcoming back in-person workshops this year! They can’t wait to see the collaboration, community and new friends being made as a result of these events.
The aim is to continue to empower young people with digital skills by supporting hundreds of coding events organized by non-profits. This year, they need to restructure the program to ensure its longevity and sustainability and answer to the current socio-economic climate.
At Meet and Code, they believe that a changing society and the transition to a green and digital economy require solid digital competencies. Boosting digital skills at all levels helps increase growth and innovation; it builds a fairer, more cohesive, sustainable, and inclusive society. These aspects are all part of the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs).
The events and workshops will continue to be focused on coding or digital skills for youth and will remain free-of-charge for participants.
Funding Information
- You are also welcome to host both virtual and hybrid events. They will leave it up to you to decide which format suits you best, but now is the time for you to apply for a grant of up to 500 euro for your events.
- The events take place: September 1st – October 31st, 2022
Eligible Countries
The 2022 edition will provide grants to eligible NPOs in the following countries: Austria, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.
Funding Criteria
- Funding criteria for on-site events:
- Events must align with local Covid restrictions and regulations. The submitting non-profit organization is responsible and liable for ensuring compliance with those local regulations.
- Every event must address at least 20 children and young people.
- Funding may only be used for the submitted project and charitable purposes.
- Funding criteria for online events:
- Events can be executed virtually or partly virtual.
- The events have to be designed for a minimum of 10 attendees.
- The format of the events can be:
- A live event, e.g. a webinar or a virtual coding workshop
- A “non-live event†with mandatory participant interaction, e.g. a Massive Open Online Course with live FAQ sessions.
- Please note that funding can only be used for event related expenditure, that is:
- Trainer/s for the workshop
- A license for online teaching tools or costs for premises
- Learning materials for participants including curation and shipping, e.g. workings books or hardware
- Communication to reach potential participants, e.g. flyers, posters, and/or online marketing
- Professional external support to enable an online event, e.g. technical support.
- Rent for space needed because of e.g. technical infrastructure
Eligibility Criteria
- Only charitable non-profit organizations from the following countries are eligible to apply for the Meet and Code grant: Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Kazakhstan, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Ukraine.
- All submitted digital and coding event ideas should take place within the timeframe of September 1st till October 31st, 2022, and aligned with the EU Code Week. The events should address children and youth between the ages of 8 to 24, and must be free for participants.
- Only charitable organizations can submit their ideas via their country Meet and Code Website.
- The events are initiated, managed and run by the submitting non-profit organization itself. The submitting non-profit organization is responsible and liable for everything that occurs during the planning, organization, running and follow-up of the project.
- The funds are only paid out to charitable organizations able to evidence their non-profit status. Evidence must be provided during the validation process performed by the TechSoup Europe network partner in the applicant organization’s country.
