The Centers for Disease Control (CDC)- CGH is currently seeking proposals from eligible entities for its program entitled- Program for Testing, Care, Treatment, and Prevention of HIV/AIDS (PROTECT) among Key Populations: Men who have Sex with Men and Commercial Sex Workers in the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire under PEPFAR.
The program seeks to establish a self-sustainable comprehensive clinical and community Program for Testing, Care, Treatment, and Prevention of HIV/AIDS (PROTECT) for men who have sex with men (MSM) including transgender (TG) persons, commercial sex workers (CSW) in urban and rural areas, and specific priority populations (PP) in Côte d’Ivoire (CI), which will result in the increased adoption of high impact HIV services and protective behaviors among most at-risk populations (MARP) in targeted locations over the next five years.
Objectives
PROTECT aims to:
- accelerate the ability of governmental partners, key populations (KP), civil society organizations (CSOs), and private sector providers to more effectively plan, deliver, and optimize comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention and care and treatment services at scale leading to reduced HIV transmission among KPs (CSW, MSM, and TG), their sexual partners and their children, and extend life expectancies for those who are HIV-positive;
- reduce stigma and discrimination targeting KPs related to their identity, social conditions, and behavior, as well as stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV (PLHIV) by families, health providers, and the community through inclusion of civil society, law enforcement, and social welfare services to protect individuals and communities; and
- mapping and conducting size estimations to provide data on hot spots.
Award Amount
The award amount for this project will be up to $4,500,000.
