The WECF International is seeking proposals for the Feminist Climate Action Fund Program to enable women, gender non-conforming people, feminist civil society organizations (CSOs) and informal inclusive young feminist groups to build capacity, network with climate networks and become active in climate dialogues and policy process at local, national and EU-wide level.
They aim to support initiatives that challenge traditional approaches, create systemic change, and advance climate justice by integrating diverse perspectives, particularly those of women, girls, and gender-diverse individuals from historically excluded communities.
Objectives
- They seek proposals that:
- Think Outside the Box: Propose innovative and unconventional ideas connecting gender equality and climate from diverse angles (e.g., economic empowerment, non-toxic future, migration etc..).
- Promote Intersectionality: Address overlapping forms of discrimination and privilege, considering factors such as race, ethnicity, age, disability, socio-economic status, and geographic location.
- Engage Marginalised Voices: Ensure meaningful participation from those most affected by climate change, including women, girls, and gender-diverse individuals.
- Demonstrate Impact: Show a clear pathway for change with measurable outcomes, emphasizing longterm sustainability.
- Specific Objectives
- Projects should aim to:
- Advocate for policy and societal changes that reflect gender-responsive and inclusive climate action.
- Build Capacity among stakeholders, particularly marginalised communities, to participate meaningfully in climate dialogues and decision-making.
- Design campaigns that raise awareness about the intersection of gender and climate issues, promoting behavioural and institutional change.
- Influence policy by integrating intersectional perspectives into local, national, or global climate policies and frameworks.

Funding Information
- 25,000 euro per subgrantees project.
Duration
- Project Duration: All projects should be for a duration of 20 months meaning, projects should end no later than February 2027.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must:
- be a legal person (category 1, 2, 3) or an entity without legal personality (category 2 and 3 only)
- be non-profit making
- if a legal person, be a Civil Society Organisation (CSO) or an association of CSOs constituted in accordance with the legislation in force in the country
- be established in a country listed in this CfP
- not be a beneficiary of a grant (neither lead, nor co-applicant, or affiliated entity, nor associates or contractors) in the frame of the European Commission’s DEAR programme
- not have the financial, administrative or operational capacity to compete directly for EU funding under the EC DEAR 2022 CfP EuropeAid/173998/DH/ACT/Multi
