The City of Arbana’s Community Services Grant Program is an annual funding opportunity that supports public or private not-for-profit agencies that provide community-based programs and services to low-income Urbana households.
Focus Areas
- The following service areas are eligible for funding under the Community Services Grant Program:
- Education
- Housing/homelessness prevention
- Employment/job training
- Immigration services
- Family support/special needs
- Senior services
- Food security
- Violence prevention
- Healthcare
- Youth services
Funding Information
- $500,000 is available for grants through the Community Services program. Individual award amounts will vary on a case-by-case basis. Average awards are anticipated to range between $15,000 and $30,000.
Eligible Activities
- The following activities are eligible under the Community Services Grant Program:
- Personnel costs (staff salaries, wages).
- Program materials & supplies.
- Travel costs directly associated with operation of the program.
- Rent/utility payments (not to exceed three months of assistance).
- Instruction costs.
- Facility rental directly associated with operation of the program.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant organizations must not be debarred and suspended from working on government contracts according to the System for Award Management
- Applicant must have certificate of Good Standing with State of Illinois
- Applicant organization must not be delinquent on federal or state taxes or owe funds to the City of Urbana
Ineligibility Criteria
- The following activities are ineligible under the Community Services Grant Program:
- Programs and/or services for non-Urbana residents.
- Capital expenditures.
- Construction hard costs (including renovation).
- Cash payments to program participants (i.e. gift cards).
- Indirect costs.
- Political/campaign related expenses.
