The City of Hobart Community Grants Program to provide financial assistance to not-for-profit organisations and community groups wishing to undertake programs, projects and activities that involve, engage and benefit the Hobart community.
Community Grants are provided to support groups to deliver community based programs, activities and events that align with relevant objectives of the City of Hobart Capital City Strategic Plan 2019–29, Social Inclusion Strategy and related community strategies.
Objectives
- encourage inclusiveness by drawing together diverse groups to share in positive outcomes
- create opportunities to enhance community spirit and encourage participation across all sectors of the community
- develop connectedness by encouraging accessibility
Funding Information
- Community grants offer cash support from $1000 to $5000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Incorporated not-for-profit organisations and registered charities:
- Incorporated not-for-profit (NFP) organisations, including registered charities, are eligible to apply for and auspice applications for grants.
- Unregistered groups or organisations:
- Unincorporated groups or organisations are eligible to apply under their name.
- For the purpose of this grant, unincorporated groups are considered to be two or more people that have come together for a collective purpose.
- The representatives of the group must be over 18 years old and provide CVs outlining their experience, along with a summary of its purpose.
Who can’t apply?
- current employees of, or contractors to, the City of Hobart
- commercial and for-profit organisations, including sole traders, partnerships and trusts
- social enterprises
- individuals
- applicants who have received a City of Hobart grant for the same project within the same financial year
- federal, state and local government agencies and bodies, with the exception of the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens, and registered schools and training organisations
- political parties
- organisations that do not operate or provide services in the City of Hobart municipal area
