The Noosa Council is accepting applications for its Community Disaster Response and Recovery Grant to support communities to recover and build resilience as a result of the severe weather and flooding event across the Noosa Shire.
Objectives

The objectives of the Community Disaster Response and Recovery Program is to:
- allow communities the opportunity to choose their response to the loss, anxiety and distress experienced as a result of severe weather and flooding events;
- promote wellbeing and healing among community;
- strengthen social connectedness and assist communities with the recovery process.
Funding Information
- The maximum Community Disaster Response and Recovery grant is $60,000 for a hinterland flood response social worker.
Eligibility Criteria

The grant program is available to organisations who:
- Are a legal not-for-profit organisation as defined by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and Australian Charities and Not-For-Profits Commission (ACNC), located within or delivering services within the Noosa Shire flood impact zone.
- Comply with all governance and financial requirements of the State and Commonwealth as at the closing date for the grant program
- Have an active ABN
- Have a bank account in the name of the legal entity

All applicants must have:
- Appropriate insurances and adhere to sound Workplace Health and Safety practices.
Who Cannot Apply?

This grant program is not available to:
- Commercial businesses or business trusts
- Individuals
- Government agencies or departments of local, state or federal government
- Educational, political or religious organisations, or primary health care providers, where the application is for the organisation’s core business
- Parents and Friends Associations, or Parents & Citizens Associations
- Kindergartens, Pre-school and day care centres
- Not for profit organisations with a liquor-licensed supporters/associated club that commercially trades seven days a week
