The Hamilton Community Foundation is pleased to announce the Community Health, Education & Research Fund to support innovative and applied research in community health.
Objectives
- The objectives of this fund are to support innovative applied or participatory research in community health by:
- encompassing a broad definition of health that incorporates lifestyle, social, physical and economic environments, health promotion and disease prevention
- promoting partnerships and collaboration between researchers and community organizations, agencies and institutions
- promoting the dissemination of acquired knowledge amongst community organizations, agencies and institution
Priorities
- The Fund’s priorities include:
- Health promotion and disease prevention (enabling people to improve their health by creating conditions in communities for health)
- Building a healthy community (collaborations for safe, caring, healthy, inclusive communities)
- Integration of best practice in health and social services (dissemination of acquired knowledge and research findings in ways that assist decision makers and practitioners)
- Respiratory health
Funding Information
- Amount available for distribution out to the community: $200,000
- Grants generally range from $10,000 – $35,000
Eligibility Criteria
- Proposals are invited from community organizations, agencies and institutions in the City of Hamilton that have an interest in innovative community health research and are registered charitable organizations. (This includes hospitals, colleges and universities, community health centres, community agencies, and consumer organizations.)
