The City of Parramatta Council is inviting applications for the Cultural Heritage & Stories Research Grant Program to encourage research that will document and interpret the stories of Parramatta for the benefit of current and future generations.
Parramatta Cultural Heritage and Stories Research Grant support research projects that add to sharing the knowledge of Parramatta’s cultural and heritage history.
Priorities
Priority will be given to research projects which explore:
- Aboriginal heritage (for example: traditional and contemporary culture);
- Social histories (for example: aspects of everyday life, people who have made significant contribution to the community);
- Significant heritage sites and structures in the Parramatta LGA (built or natural environment);
- Contemporary heritage (for example: living histories, or contemporary cultural trends)
Funding Information
- $20,000 is allocated to the Cultural Heritage and Stories Research Grant.
- The maximum funding available to any one project in this category is $5,000.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility criteria require that the organisation must:
- Be an incorporated not-for-profit organisation or can provide evidence of an auspice arrangement with an incorporated not-forprofit organisation;
- Be located within the boundaries of the Parramatta local government area and/or principally service Parramatta residents;
- Address City of Parramatta’s vision statement and at least one of the eight priorities;
- Project begins after the grant funding commencement date and does not require retrospective, recurrent or ongoing funding;
- Have a bank account in its name with a minimum of 2 signatories, except where individuals have been named eligible for a specific program;
- Not have outstanding debts to Council;
- Not have overdue progress or acquittal reports for previously funded grants.
