The Creative Industries Fund has launched its Design Sector Internationalisation Grant Scheme for projects in the fields of design, architecture, digital culture, and crossovers, focusing on international research and collaboration with activities primarily taking place abroad.
Objectives
- Enhancing international collaboration within the various design disciplines.
- The Dutch cultural sector having a strong position abroad by means of sustainable collaboration, exchange and visibility.
- Deploying the power of the cultural and creative sector to promote sustainable development, using the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a guiding framework.
Funding Information
- Grant Period Budget: €300,000
- You may apply for a grant of €10,000 up to a maximum of €50,000. The grant is a contribution to the total project costs, of which at least 20% must be covered by co-financing.
Eligible Projects
- The grant scheme is for projects aimed at research and collaboration in an international context, and whose activities mainly take place abroad, with one or more international partner(s). From the context of the Dutch creative industry, the projects should contribute to strengthening international exchange and sustainable international cooperation.
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant is a professional maker, observer, design agency, cultural institution or organisation, who demonstrably positions themself within the creative industry;
- The applicant is registered in the Business register of the Dutch Chamber of Commerce or in one of the Business registers that fall within the Kingdom.
Ineligibility Criteria
- Applicants who receive funding through the Basic Infrastructure Grant Scheme for Culture 2025-2028 ministerial scheme, with the exception of regional museums and heritage museums within the creative industry;
- Applicants who have another structural grant relationship with the Dutch Government;
- Projects of applicants who, during the project period, receive a grant from the Fund under the Four-year Institutional Grant Scheme for the Creative Industry 2025-2028;
- Applications for participation in international events for which the Fund has a separate procedure;
- Participation in strategic trade missions aimed at building up networks;
- Projects focused on market exploration/market expansion;
- Trade fair presentations;
- Dutch educational institutions and postgraduate institutions, or guest or employed researchers and lecturers who carry out activities from these institutions;
- Applications aimed at the development of educational programmes and related activities of educational institutions;
- Applicants who, at the moment of applying, are affiliated with a Dutch postgraduate institution, will be excluded from this scheme pursuant to paragraph.
- Projects for which, at the time the application is submitted, an application is already being processed under another one of the Fund’s grant schemes;
- Projects that have already been subsidised under one of the Fund’s grant schemes; m projects initiated by applicants who, during the project period, have already received support for the implementation of their development plan under the Talent Development Grant Programme from the Fund;
- Projects for which grant applications have already been submitted under a scheme twice before and which were rejected by the Fund; and o applications that are not submitted on time or that are incomplete.
Assessment Criteria
- Selected subject, research question and artistic value
- The extent to which the project is effective in its set-up
- Positioning within the relevant professional field and the relevance to the Dutch creative industry
- The set-up of the collaborations within the application
